️ Autobody Technician / Collision Repair Specialist

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Autobody Technician to handle a variety of repairs and restoration projects. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented and committed to delivering flawless results.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural and non-structural repairs on collision-damaged vehicles, adhering strictly to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Execute all necessary repairs including, but not limited to, welding , replacing bolt-on parts (e.g., fenders, doors, hoods, bumper covers), and frame straightening (as needed).
• Apply, shape, and sand body filler and compounds with meticulous attention to detail to achieve a smooth, seamless surface ready for refinishing.
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicles for repair and restoration projects.
• Diagnose and identify required repairs on both modern and classic vehicles.
• Collaborate with the paint department and estimators to ensure timely and high-quality job completion.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, using all required protective equipment.

✅ Required Qualifications

• Minimum of Michigan State Certification as an Automotive Body Technician is required .
• Demonstrated proficiency and experience in welding (MIG/TIG) techniques relevant to autobody repair.
• Extensive experience with the replacement of various bolt-on components .
• Expert-level skill in the proper application, shaping, and sanding of body filler .
• A strong portfolio or track record demonstrating a clear commitment to superior quality work, where precision takes precedence over quick turnarounds.
• Experience with, or enthusiasm for working on, classic car restorations is a significant plus.
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
