The team is responsible for shielding the company’s systems from security risks, while designing technology strategies that enable AIG’s businesses to achieve their goals. AIG’s Information Technology functions include application development and management, enterprise architecture, and technology risk and compliance. The Global Claims Chief Information Officer leads a team accountable for technology and digital strategies, program and project delivery, technology standards, security and innovation for AIG’s Global Claims function. In this role, you will partner closely with AIG’s Chief Claims officer and Global Claims Operating officer and be responsible for building business cases for technology investment, shaping and delivering IT projects and programs, and assessing the priority of IT activity in line with business needs. This role is also accountable for the day to day IT operations for Claims technology platforms and you will work closely with the Global Production Support and Infrastructure organizations to ensure that service is monitored and maintained within agreed tolerances, and that all business critical services are proactively patched and updated in line with Architectural and IT Security standards. You will also have budgetary responsibility and ownership for IT spend for Claims technology. This is a senior level role that is expected to build and maintain relationships at all levels across the business; it plays a pivotal role in ensuring that IT is seen as an effective partner and enabler by connecting the business to the relevant parts of the wider IT organization. You will have management responsibilities for a team of technology resources who will interact with key business leads on strategic programs. The successful incumbent must have strong leadership and influencing skills and be a strategic thinker. What you need to know: Drive and oversee the technology strategy and roadmap for Claims. Partner with the Chief Claims Officer and Claims COO, and other Business Leaders in the effective delivery of key business objectives. Serve as the key point of contact for all technology initiatives and communications for claims globally. Take accountability for successful delivery of current and future projects to deliver enhancements and new IT capabilities to the business, implement new products and refresh legacy technology. Understand and make the most relevant and appropriate technology recommendations based on optimizing costs of ownership for the IT estate. Leverage the strategic relationships you will build across the organization to gather and shape business requirements and provide recommendations on solution delivery. Promote line of business knowledge and understanding, working with the business and your team to clarify and refine these. Lead and manage technology engineering teams for application development, remediation, and service management. Ensures expected levels of service availability are maintained. Make day-to-day decisions on the operational elements of the technology team’s deliverables, managing escalations received from the business. Manage an effective relationship with strategic development partners and third party vendors to ensure successful delivery and efficient cost management. Own Third Party Vendor Management liaison and issue resolution where applicable. Ensure technological processes and services comply with all local requirements, laws, and regulations, and exploit and lead best practices in the industry. Ensure that the IT solutions developed align to enterprise policies and architectural standards. Improve technology delivery by leading adoption of new capabilities and also managing the risk of failure. Own risk identification, management and escalation as it relates to Technology. What we’re looking for: Bachelor's degree and at least 20 years of management experience with at least 10+ direct years of leadership experience, including overseeing regional technology teams. Extensive and proven experience in Technology roles in Insurance, delivering large-scale complex programs. Experience of leading a global IT function, working in a global matrix managed environment, stakeholder management that can result in multiple changes. Demonstrated capacity to establish strong relationships with customers, business leaders, and intermediaries. 3rd Party Vendor and Supplier Management / negotiation experience from selection to implementation. Strong experience of IT Financial Management and cost optimization. Skilled leader of change; experienced working in a fluid and fast-paced organization, versatile and results-oriented. Able to work effectively in challenging and complex environments. Strong leadership / influencing and negotiation skills with demonstrated experience of managing and developing a team. Team player, ability to work effectively in challenging and complex environments. Big picture / strategic thinker. Clear and confident communicator, ability to challenge and influence change at a strategic level. Willing to travel up to 15% of the time for business purposes.
