Job Description
District Sales Manager is responsible for working directly with Sales Representatives, Relief Representatives and Sales & Service Representatives to ensure that they are meeting all sales and merchandising standard in their accounts.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hires and trains new employees
- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy
Primary Duties:
- Responsible, and able to perform all job responsibilities of a Pre-Sell Representative
- Effectively communicate special deliveries, operation’s needs and customer needs in a timely and professional manner
- Schedule employee vacations and Cover sales routes as needed
- Ensure Relief Representatives are knowledgeable in sales routes.
- Maintain established Team Sell and Ride with Frequency as per our EDI standards
- Complete required audits, surveys and OJTs as necessary
- Develop a business relationship with customers and discuss sales trends and be able to influence a competitive edge in dominant POS placement, price points, shelf space and product location.
- Sell in new products and increase distribution of high end, primary and secondary brands.
- Sell in current and future price promotions with customers
- Responsible for booking displays and assisting in building and merchandising large displays.
- Product rotation on the shelves and in the coolers from back stock as well as refresh and face stock for displays
- Ensure all product packaging reflects AB and EDI standards and remove those that do not
- Report breakage and out of code to the Sales Representative
- Monitor and report all competitive activity (i.e. new products/packages, pricing, sampling, display initiatives, resets)
- Ensure that all POS is clean, functional and updated
- Fulfill pre-established sales objectives and implementation of company marketing programs at the retail level
- Execute special assignments and impact selling objectives as assigned by management
- Transmit orders generated from daily sales in a timely manner.
- Document job performance & complete annual employee evaluations for assigned personnel.
- Perform night trade call activities & assist with special events in assigned area.
- Perform samplings on a weekly basis
- Check emails and review all company technology (i.e. Trello, Slack) and respond to all company correspondence daily
- All other duties as assigned
Additional Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Self-motivated and results oriented
- Highly organized with the ability to manage priorities and coordinate multiple projects
- Ability to lift, load, unload, and move product that weighs between 60 lbs and up to 165 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to work in a cool environment. (as low as 40 degrees)
- Ability to work independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Draught technical troubleshooting skills
- Able to attend all required meetings / trainings
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor’s Degree required
- Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record required
- 3 years of beverage industry and merchandising experience preferred, but not required.
- Daily travel within designated market required
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to lift, push, pull, load, unload, and move product that weighs up to 60 lbs. frequently and up to 160 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as required.
