Under general supervision of the Education Administrator I in the Programs and Partnership Unit, the Director, and the Associate Director working cooperatively and independently with program units and supervisors throughout the Special Education Division and Department, the Education Programs Consultant (EPC) works independently and as part of a team to provide technical assistance in support of secondary transition requirements found in the Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The support and technical assistance includes the monitoring and renewal of one non-monetary Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) inter-agency contract agreement and the monitoring of assigned Workability I (WAI) grant program regions. As part of monitoring the WAI grant, the EPC will conduct annual LEA fiscal assessments and program evaluations. Additionally, the EPC will participate with DOR staff on Transition Partnership Program (TPP) monitoring reviews of Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) with TPP at their sites. The EPC will serve as the Department’s representative in state council or committees as requested for specified terms, participate in federal technical assistance provider activities, and support the unit and team with special education legislative analysis and budget changes for assigned programs. Travel is required.
