Equity Research Analyst - Financials (Banks/Insurance) Our client, a leading multi-strategy hedge fund, is seeking a talented Equity Research Analyst to join an established Portfolio Management team focused on the Financials sector, with a particular emphasis on Banks and Insurance coverage. This is a rare opportunity to work within a high-performing, collaborative team that covers the full breadth of the financials space. The role is based in New York City and offers significant exposure to senior investment professionals and decision-makers. Base pay range $150,000.00/yr - $500,000.00/yr Key Responsibilities Conduct deep-dive fundamental research and generate actionable investment ideas across banks and insurance companies. Support the PM team in managing long/short equity portfolios, contributing to alpha generation. Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and macroeconomic factors impacting the financials sector. Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation frameworks. Ideal Candidate Profile 2-5 years of experience in equity research within a long/short, long bias, or long-only investment environment. Strong sector expertise in banks or insurance. Demonstrated ability to generate investment ideas and communicate them effectively. Experience on the sell-side only will not be considered suitable for this role. Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and intellectually curious.
