Private Equity Analyst (Quality of Earnings)

Location: Atlanta, GA

Northern Rock () is a company that buys, operates, and grows exceptional automotive businesses. Northern Rock is seeking an exceptional private equity professional to support its efforts in acquiring automotive repair shops and associated real estate across the United States.

Job Description :

• Analyze earnings and cash flows on a reported and pro forma basis, identify key business and operational drivers of performance, conduct due diligence on acquisition targets, assist with the quality-of-earnings analysis, and create forecasts and analysis of investment risks and merits
• Provide a clear, detailed report on earnings quality, including adjustments and findings
• Ensure proper application of revenue recognition policies and identify any premature or inflated revenue
• Adjust EBITDA for non-operational items to assess core profitability
• Detect potential earnings manipulation or fraud
• Ensure earnings are backed by strong, consistent cash flows
• Review changes in working capital to assess liquidity and earnings sustainability
• Ensure asset depreciation/amortization policies reflect actual usage
• Review accounting estimates and policies for consistency and reasonableness
• Evaluate tax provisions and strategies that may impact reported earnings
• Determine if earnings are sustainable or driven by one-time events
• Conduct rigorous financial modeling and analysis, review and analyze operational data and financial statements, and prepare reports and investment memoranda and other materials for the company’s senior leadership

Qualifications :

• At least 1–3 years of financial modeling and analysis experience in transaction advisory services/financial due diligence, FP&A, business valuation services, public accounting, and/or a related role
• Experience performing Quality of Earnings analyses is preferred
