Salary: Salary placement on our Certified Salary schedule is dependent on the employees’ education and/or work experience. Certified/licensed employees will be granted one (1) year for each full year of contractual and/or work experience up to a maximum of ten (10) years, which includes in-district and out-of-district contractual teaching and/or work experience. Required:
Master’s degree in Counseling
Valid Colorado Department of Education Special Services Provider license with school counselor endorsement
Preferred:
CPI training (training provided)
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective: Lead the development and implementation of a robust and comprehensive K-8 school counseling program. Facilitate small student groups and advisory classes with lessons that support the MTSS program across the school and support students' academic and social/emotional growth. Applicant must be able to relate to and work with students from kindergarten to 8th grade as well as work collaboratively with the school team. Relevant duties may include providing mentoring, family involvement activities, career education programs and activities, post-secondary information workshops, and college campus visits.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide individual and group counseling to support students' academic, career, and social-emotional needs.
Conduct classroom guidance lessons on topics such as decision-making, coping skills, and conflict resolution.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create individualized support plans for students.
Use data-driven practices to assess student needs and program effectiveness.
Serve as a resource for crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and student mediation.
Advocate for student success and equity in educational opportunities.
Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in accordance with state and national counseling guidelines.
Demonstrate age-appropriate counseling practices that meet academic and personal/social needs.
Work collaboratively within the school environment and with appropriate stakeholders to advance the goals of the Counseling Program.

Work Environment/ Physical Demands: Ability to sit for long periods of time, numerous distractions, visual, auditory and ambulatory acuity important. Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
