Job Description
Step into a pivotal role as an Occupational Therapist in Maine, Skowhegan, where your clinical expertise translates into meaningful independence for clients across diverse settings. This opportunity invites you to apply evidence-based practice, innovate in patient-centered care, and guide individuals toward reclaiming daily routines, mobility, cognitive engagement, and participation in work, school, and leisure. Beginning on 11/24/2025, this contract runs for weeks, with a guaranteed 36.0 hours per week and a competitive weekly pay range of $1,975-$2,131. You’ll collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to design dynamic intervention plans, measure outcomes, and adjust strategies to meet each person’s evolving goals. If you’re driven by impact, growth, and the chance to expand your OT repertoire across settings—from acute care to community rehab and home health—this assignment is designed for you.
Maine’s beauty runs through every season, and Skowhegan itself offers a welcoming backdrop for your professional journey. Picture a town where fall foliage paints the streets, rivers invite gentle therapy sessions outdoors, and a tight-knit community rallies around local arts, farmers markets, and seasonal events. You’ll enjoy the chance to explore nearby lakes and mountains, easy drives to Augusta or Bangor for weekend adventures, and a pace that supports thoughtful, patient-centered care. Beyond Skowhegan, there are opportunities to practice in other Maine communities or across the U.S., expanding your exposure to diverse populations, settings, and care models while keeping the core value of meaningful outcomes at the forefront. This blend of serene Maine living with the professional mobility to experience varied environments makes every week both grounding and professionally enriching.
Location benefits extend well beyond scenery. Working in Skowhegan provides a chance to deepen expertise in geriatric rehab, orthopedic recovery, pediatrics, and adaptive equipment assessment within a supportive community hospital and affiliated clinics. The role also opens doors to nationwide assignments, enabling you to experience urban hubs, rural clinics, and everything in between—each setting offering unique case mixes, collaborative opportunities, and the chance to refine assessment techniques, documentation practices, and outcome measurement. You’ll gain exposure to diverse patient cultures, equipment needs, and care pathways, broadening your professional impact while maintaining the stability of a consistent 36-hour weekly schedule. Throughout, the company provides 24/7 support to traveling clinicians, ensuring you’re never alone on the road or in new facilities, with access to resources, guidance, and on-call assistance whenever you need it.
In this Occupational Therapist role, you’ll lead comprehensive assessments, develop and implement tailored intervention plans, and supervise or train support staff as appropriate. Core responsibilities include evaluating upper-extremity and fine motor skills, ADLs, IADLs, and functional mobility; selecting and fitting adaptive equipment, splints, or seating solutions; conducting home safety and environmental modification assessments; coordinating discharge plans; and communicating clearly with families, caregivers, and the broader care team. You’ll document progress, adjust goals, and use standardized measures to demonstrate outcomes. The position supports professional growth through mentorship, opportunities to specialize in pediatrics, neuro rehab, or geriatric rehabilitation, and pathways for certification advancement. As part of the package, you’ll receive housing assistance and an attractive bonus structure, with extensions available to continue your impact based on performance and program needs. The travel-forward model is designed to be flexible, with continuous onboarding support and a robust network to keep you engaged, connected, and advancing in your OT specialization.
Our company is built on a foundation of empowering staff to pursue career advancement within a collaborative, respectful environment. You’ll join a culture that values your clinical judgment, encourages evidence-based practice, and supports ongoing learning through resources, training opportunities, and peer collaboration. Expect consistent supervisory guidance, access to up-to-date treatment tools, and a teamwork-first approach that prioritizes patient outcomes and clinician well-being. The ability to extend or transition to additional placements reflects our commitment to your professional trajectory, not just your current assignment, ensuring you can steadily expand your expertise and influence across settings and populations.
If you’re ready to make a lasting difference, we invite you to apply and explore how your OT skills can shape lives while you grow your career. This is more than a contract—it’s a pathway to expanded impact, thriving communities, and a supported journey as you elevate your practice. Ready to join a company that values your contribution and your development? Apply today to begin an enriching chapter in Maine, with the opportunity to broaden your horizons nationwide.
Note: Hours and pay ranges are estimates and may vary by assignment. Final compensation packages and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during onboarding.
