Veterinary Radiology Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled
Radiology Assistant to join our team. The
Radiology Assistant supports our Radiologists and hospital by facilitating efficient patient flow for animals receiving diagnostic imaging.
Compensation: - $18 - $22 hourly, based on experience
Schedule: - Full Time
- Mondays - Fridays
- 8:30am-4:30pm
Key Areas of Responsibility: - Performs animal restraint during procedures
- Assist the Technician in the induction of anesthesia/sedation
- Prepares, shaves and transports patients for imaging procedures
- Positions animals appropriately for diagnostic imaging
- Supports the radiologist in performing diagnostic CT scans
- Sets up for and assists during diagnostic procedures
- Perform in-house diagnostics such as bloodwork and urinalysis.
- Completes various documentation and record keeping and tasks in various imaging, PIMS, and whiteboard systems.
- Communicates with departments on the status and timing of their patient receiving imaging.
- Stocking necessary items throughout the department
- Cleaning/disinfecting common areas
- Clean and care for hospital equipment
- Communicate with referring rDVM’s to obtain previously performed imaging.
- Assists other departments as needed and during downtime.
- Other duties as directed
Qualifications Minimum Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 6months- 1 year of Animal experience required
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
Preferred Qualifications: - 2 years of experience as a veterinary assistant with job responsibilities that required animal restraint and radiographs.
- Ability to multitask and anticipate the department's needs.
- Excellent communication.
- Experience using Medical Record and Whiteboard programs in a veterinary setting.
