An established and well-respected firm is seeking a seasoned Controller to join their growing Accounting Department. This is a full-time, onsite position offering the opportunity to be a strategic financial partner within a dynamic professional services environment.

The Controller will report directly to the Director of Accounting and play a key role in managing the firm's financial operations. This includes oversight of accounting practices, financial reporting, audits, compliance, banking, and monthly closes. This is a non-supervisory role ideal for a high-level, hands-on accounting professional.

What We’re Looking For:
Longevity – We value candidates with a stable career history. Those who change jobs every 2-3 years may not be the right fit.
Cash to GAAP Accounting Experience – This is required.
Exposure to ASC 842 Lease Accounting Standards – Highly preferred.

Responsibilities:
Lead accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports, including monthly and annual financial statements.
Oversee all aspects of the firm’s financial reporting, audits, and general ledger accounting.
Collaborate with external accountants on quarterly financial statements and covenant calculations.
Maintain and develop strong internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and firm policy.
Monitor financial performance, analyzing and reporting key insights to firm leadership.
Manage all banking activity including reconciliations, trust accounts, payroll, drawdown accounts, and account sweeps.
Handle daily treasury functions, including cash flow management and projections.
Ensure proper tax reporting and prepare all relevant filings (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
Assist with month-end and year-end closes, including journal entries and account balancing.

Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in a controller or equivalent accounting role.
Experience in a law firm or professional services firm preferred but not required.
Strong Cash to GAAP knowledge is required.
Familiarity with ASC 842 lease accounting is highly desirable.
CPA preferred, but not mandatory.
Strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive mindset.
