Job Description
A JAB Recruitment Client is seeking (3) Piping Designers to assist them with supporting measurement, compression, automation and general pipeline engineering design related tasks.
PLEASE NOTE:
- This is a CONTRACT role through the end of 2025 with the opportunity to be extended into 2026, or convert to permanent. Conversion to permanent is based on performance, market drivers, and business need and it not guaranteed.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the US indefinitely for any employer without present of future need for sponsorship.
- Position is located in Houston, Texas 77046 - Greenway Plaza
- Position is ONSITE 5 days per week in office
- NO C2C
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Support various Engineering design, project and documentation efforts.
- Provide internal and external design/engineering support.
- Maintenance of drawings database per company standards.
- Develops drawings of various disciplines: Plot plans, P&IDs, PFD’s, orthographic, isometric, etc.
- Utilizes the latest versions of AutoCAD related products.
- Conducts quality control reviews of drawings, drawing packages, and material lists in accordance to company standards.
- Coordinate between customers, engineering firms and internal resources to communicate and enforce company drafting/design standards and verify compliance.
- Develops BOM/material lists for project drawings.
- Development of as-built drawings from field redlines.
- Determine, document and enforce best methods for xref/attachment and NCS layer conventions.
- Generate rough sketches, or schematics to develop engineering concepts into visual designs.
- Coordinate and participate in P& ID walkthroughs, design reviews, site inspections, and progress meetings.
- Responsible for developing piping design administrative and technical practices, specifications, and procedures.
- Create layouts/designs utilizing company specifications, standard drawings, design instructions, plot plan, flow diagrams, line lists and supplier information.
- Build and maintain CAD standards
- Experience in creating 3D models and drawing sets with CADWorx 3D Plant or equivalent modeling software.
- Piping specification library creation/maintenance per company standards.
- Represents piping design in meetings with suppliers, subcontractors, licensors, clients, and other Company disciplines, and produces documentation required for conference or meeting notes.
- Review project specifications, administrative and technical practices, design instructions, plot plan, flow diagrams, and supplier information
- Provide a central focus for CAD within the project piping group. Interface with client CAD counterparts.
- (Senior) Assist in scheduling, determining work station needs, and forecasting CAD related costs and estimates. Monitors station utilization and forecasts deviations from workstation plan.
- Collaborate with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
- Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.

Minimum requirements :
Education:
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
- A minimum of twelve (6) years direct work experience in piping design
- A minimum of eight (4) years of experience in Oil and Gas facility design
- Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in CADWorx 3D and AutoCAD
- Proficient in Industry Codes and standards.
- Proficiency in NavisWorks
- Knowledge of Autodesk Vault Professional or another document management application
- Strong knowledge of Company Engineering Standards, (Civil, Structural, mechanical/process piping, electrical and Instrumentation).
- Comprehensive working knowledge of company standards, practices and procedures including pipe specifications.
- Understands material nomenclature, specifications and symbols for P&IDs, Piping, Structural, Electrical etc.
- Experience with raster editing software.
- Knowledge of industry codes/standards not limited to B31.4, B31.8, B31.3 and ASME.
- (Senior) Knowledgeable on Oil/Gas equipment, piping material, structural members and electrical items and terminology
- Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

- Strong attention to detail in composing, drafting, proofing and distributing drawing packages incl. associated / material lists

- (Senior) Capable of walking down drawings- Redlining, Creating and validating piping, instrumentation and electrical components.
